How long does a full detailing service take?
The exact time can vary depending on the size and condition of the vehicle — for example, heavily soiled interiors or larger SUVs may take a little longer.
We take our time to ensure every surface is thoroughly cleaned, restored, and protected, so your car leaves looking and feeling like new.
All work is completed by hand with professional-grade products to achieve the best possible finish.
How often should I get my car detailed?
For most vehicles, we recommend a full detail every 3–6 months to keep your paint, interior, and trims in top condition.
If you want your car looking its best year-round, a maintenance detail every 4–6 weeks is ideal. This helps prevent build-up of dirt, water spots, and contaminants while maintaining your shine and protection.
Cars with ceramic coatings should be maintained regularly to ensure the coating performs properly and lasts its full lifespan.
Your driving habits, parking conditions, and environment (e.g. street parking, near the beach, dusty roads) can also affect how often you’ll need detailing — we’re happy to recommend a schedule that suits your vehicle and lifestyle.
Do you offer ceramic coating?
Yes — we specialise in professional-grade ceramic and graphene coatings designed to protect your paint and enhance gloss for years.
Our coatings create a durable, hydrophobic barrier that resists UV rays, bird droppings, dirt, and light scratches — keeping your car cleaner for longer and easier to maintain.
We offer multiple options to suit your needs and budget:
3-Year Coating – long-lasting shine and protection
5-Year Coating – enhanced durability and gloss retention
7+ Year Coating – premium protection for long-term ownership
All coatings include paint decontamination and correction to ensure the surface is flawless before sealing.
We’re fully mobile and apply coatings at your home or workplace across Sydney’s Northern Beaches, North Shore, and surrounding suburbs.
Is detailing safe for new paint or wraps?
Yes — our detailing services are completely safe for both fresh paint and vinyl wraps when performed correctly.
We use pH-neutral, non-abrasive products and soft microfiber towels to gently clean and protect your surfaces without causing damage.
For new paint, we recommend waiting at least 30 days after a respray before applying any waxes, sealants, or coatings, as the paint needs time to fully cure. Light washing and interior cleaning during this period are safe.
For vinyl wraps or PPF, our methods help maintain colour, prevent fading, and extend lifespan. We also offer ceramic coatings formulated specifically for wraps, adding UV protection and making them easier to clean.
If you’re unsure about the age or condition of your paint or wrap, we’ll assess it on-site and adjust our process to keep it 100% safe.
What is car detailing?
Car detailing is a thorough cleaning, restoration, and protection process for both the interior and exterior of your vehicle — far more in-depth than a regular car wash.
It involves carefully cleaning every surface, removing built-up dirt, stains, and contaminants, then restoring shine and applying protection to keep your car looking its best for longer.
A typical detail includes:
Exterior – hand wash, decontamination, polishing, waxing or ceramic coating for gloss and protection
Interior – vacuuming, steam cleaning, shampooing, leather care, and surface protection
The goal is to revive your vehicle to showroom condition and maintain its value, comfort, and appearance over time.
At Best Luxury Detailing, every job is performed by hand using professional-grade products for premium, long-lasting results.
What should I do before my appointment?
Before we arrive, please make sure:
Your vehicle is easily accessible (e.g. parked in a driveway or safe spot with space around it)
All personal belongings are removed from the interior, glove box, boot, and cup holders
Keys are available so we can access all areas of the car
If you’re in an apartment or shared area, please let us know in advance so we can plan for parking and water access if needed
That’s it — we bring everything required, including water and power. You can relax while we handle the rest.
What’s included in a full detailing service?
Our Full Interior & Exterior Detail is a complete deep clean designed to restore your car inside and out — perfect for cars that haven’t been detailed in a while or before selling.
Exterior:
Hand wash and foam pre-soak
Wheel, tyre, and arch cleaning
Bug and tar removal
Clay bar decontamination
Light polish to enhance gloss
Tyre shine and exterior dressing
Interior:
Thorough vacuum (including boot)
Dashboard, trims, vents, and console cleaned
Door jambs and seals wiped down
Interior plastics dressed
Windows cleaned inside and out
Optional extras: shampooing, leather conditioning, or odor removal
Every detail is done by hand using professional-grade products, leaving your car clean, glossy, and refreshed — inside and out.
Will detailing remove scratches and stains?
Detailing can significantly reduce or remove many light scratches and stains, but the results depend on their depth and severity.
Light surface scratches (from washing or daily wear) can often be removed through polishing or paint correction.
Deeper scratches that cut through the clear coat may not be fully removed but can be improved so they’re far less noticeable.
Interior stains on seats, carpets, and trims are treated with professional cleaners and extraction methods — most marks come out completely, though some older or set-in stains may only lighten.
For best results, we recommend a Stage 1 Paint Correction for swirl marks and light defects, or a Stage 2 Correction for deeper scratches. We’ll always assess your car on arrival and explain what’s achievable before starting.
What’s the difference between a car wash and a detail?
A car wash is a quick, surface-level clean — often focused on removing visible dirt. It’s fast and cheap, but it doesn’t properly care for your paint. Most automatic or budget hand washes use dirty sponges, harsh chemicals, and poor washing techniques, which can leave your paint covered in swirl marks and fine scratches over time.
A detail, on the other hand, is a deep, professional cleaning and protection process. Every surface is carefully cleaned by hand using safe, pH-neutral products, clean microfibre towels, and proper techniques to avoid any damage.
Here’s the difference:
🧽 Car Wash: quick clean, harsh products, reused sponges, high risk of swirl marks, no protection
✨ Detailing: deep clean, safe techniques, paint decontamination, polishing, and protective coatings to restore and preserve your finish
Detailing not only makes your car look like new but also protects your paint, prevents damage, and maintains resale value.
